How does P.E.M.F work?
According to Nobel prize winner Dr Otto Warburg, we have cell voltages of minus 70 to minus 90 millivolts (in vitro). When we are born a healthy cell will have an electrical charge of between -70 millivolts and -90 millivolts. As we age the electrical charge around the cell decreases to as little as -35 millivolts by age 70 or so. With illness or injury, the voltage will drop even further. All chronic disease is associated with a low cellular voltage.
The 70 trillion cells in your body are like little wet cell batteries that ideally function at a voltage of around -70 millivolts (-25 Mv in vivo). The cell membrane acts like a one-way rectifier that converts the earth's magnetic pulse into electrical potential energy, which "charge's your cells". One of the problems is that we are rarely connected with the earth to receive this charge and are also bombarded with unhealthy electromagnetic energies from mobile phones, wi-fi, Bluetooth, smart metres, etc.
The magnetic pulse that generates the cellular energy drives cell metabolism and helps to enhance oxygenation, ATP production and overall absorption of nutrition and essential elements into the cell and removal of wastes out of the cell. Harold Saxton Burr (1889-1973), Professor of Anatomy at Yale University School of Medicine researched the energy fields of organisms, and published 93 papers on biological electricity between 1932 & 1956. A recent study at MIT stated that using novel voltage-sensitive nanoparticles, researchers have found electric fields inside cells as strong as those produced in lightning bolts. Previously, it has only been possible to measure electric fields across cell membranes, not within the main bulk of cells. It's not clear what causes these strong fields or what they might mean. But now that it's possible to measure them, researchers hope to learn about disease states such as cancer by studying these electric fields.
University of Michigan researchers led by chemistry professor Raoul Kopelman encapsulated voltage-sensitive dyes in polymer spheres just 30 nanometres in diameter. Testing these nanoparticles in the internal fluid of brain-cancer cells, Kopelman found electric fields as strong as 15 million volts per meter, perhaps five times stronger than the field found in a lightning bolt.
The bottom line is that low energy cells do not heal as rapidly as high energy cells. PEMF sessions deliver that energy, cellular exercise and improved circulation and oxygenation to cells rapidly are an important element in getting patients well again.
