Magnetic Field Deficiency Syndrome (MFDS)

Dr. Kyoichi Nakagawa, Director of Isuzu Hospital in Tokyo, Japan, says: “The human body is essentially a large electromagnetic field that operates under the influence of electrically charged ions. The nervous system is in part controlled by changing patterns of ions and of electromagnetic fields. Therefore, every thought and/or action causes the electric transfer of signals from the brain to the corresponding limb. The existence of every cell in our body is based on electricity. A disturbance of the magnetic balance causes dysfunction of the cells, causing diseases, pain, mental or emotional problems, insomnia and other bodily imbalances.

Dr. Kyoichi Nakagawa is considered the founder of modern magnetic research in relation to health. He published a 1956 study, which claimed that the Earth's natural magnetic field had declined by at least 50%, recent measurements confirm an 80% drop over the last 4000 years. He then went on to study the effects of magnetism on humans. He coined the term, Magnetic Field Deficiency Syndrome (MFDS), which indicated the decline of Earth's magnetic field caused people to suffer symptoms such as fatigue, insomnia, generalized aches and pains, etc. The external application of a magnetic field to the human body was found to alleviate the symptoms of magnetic field deficiency syndrome. Western medicines’ version of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia seem to correlate very close with MFDS.

Physiologists have determined that we receive about a third of our energy from external sources, like the Earth’s magnetic field. The importance of the earth’s magnetic field wasn’t discovered until the observation that cosmonauts experienced up to 80% bone-calcium loss along with severe muscle cramps from extended periods in space.

Dr. Kyoichi Nakagawa, believes that our exposure to the Earth’s magnetic field is reduced by the amount of time we spend in buildings and cars, and that this may interfere with our health. The effects of Magnetic Field Deficiency Syndrome are characterized by:

  • generalized aches and pains

  • fatigue

  • stiffness of shoulders, back and neck

  • chest pains

  • headaches, heaviness of head

  • habitual constipation

  • general lassitude

  • vision problems

  • insomnia

  • frequent headaches

  • dizziness/vertigo

Long term deficiency can result in disease, reduce our ability to heal, and leave us more susceptible to microorganisms (bacteria and viruses) and toxins in our environment

This Earth was surrounded by a much stronger magnetic field than that which exists today. Scientists have been recording the decline of the Earth's magnetic field for the last 160 years. This decline has also been determined by measurement of decrease of north-south orientation of magnetite crystals in deposits, which have occurred at known times in history such as in volcanic flows and sediment. Since 1829, scientists have been able to accurately measure the Earth’s magnetic field and have recorded a decline of its strength. Today the magnetic field of the Earth is measured between 0.3 and 0.6 gauss (a unit of measurement of magnetic fields). It is estimated that the Earth’s magnetic field 4,000 years ago was anywhere between 2.5 and 5.0 gauss. This is a decrease of 80% or more.
